Inside Story – A Coach’s View
The Coach's View - Matt

The week
was one of serious practice as we prepared for the Junior zones, held at
Prescott on the week-end. This is our first time in this event as a true
junior team, and wanted to make a good showing against some strong
competition.
Saturday morning at 9:00 we faced one of the strongest
junior teams in the area, the Rob Bushield team from
Brockville. We did not start out well,
and while we would have been fortunate to beat them, our team
was disappointed in not being able give them a better game than
we did. Fortunately the team found its game later in the day, and was able
to move through the 'B' side of the event with wins against two other very
competitve Manotick teams, skipped by Neil Sinclair and David Lillico.
We will now join the
Bushfield team, and six other top junior teams at the regional playdowns at
the Cataraqui Club in Kingston. Win
or lose, we will do everything we can to represent the Manotick club well,
and we thank the club and its membership for the support they provide to us,
and to youth curling in general, througout the curling season.
